Bird Photograph Collection
This is my bird photograph collection, I use a lot of patience and time to make this couple shoot. It’s really not easy, because the birds are non-stop moving and can’t be too close to them. When alarmed, they will fly away, then I need to wait it again, maybe an hour.
In my opinion for the bird shooting, that’s patient, patient and patient. Because you unable to order the bird make a pose for you, what you can do is just wait. Find out a good position, set up the equipment and then waiting for the perfect time. I will set my camera on continue shooting and continue focusing, make sure to capture every movement of it.
Maybe you take a 50 shoots, only get one perfect photograph. That’s will always get the focus, but the structure is not good. Some of it will be perfect in lighting, but the object is not in a good position. So finally, I only get these few shots of it, hope you will like it.
Rock Pigeons are tubby birds with small heads and short legs. Their wings are broad but pointed wings and the tail is wide and rounded. Pigeons are familiar birds of cities and towns, city pigeons nest on buildings and window ledges. In the countryside they also nest on barns and grain towers, under bridges, and on natural cliffs.
Variable in color, but most birds are bluish gray with two black bands on the wing and a black tip to the tail. Most birds have iridescent throat feathers. Wing patterns may include two bars, dark spots, or can be plain. The tail is usually dark tipped.
Pigeons can find their way home, even if released from a distant location blindfolded. They can navigate by sensing the earth’s magnetic fields, and perhaps also by using sound and smell. They can also use cues based on the position of the sun.
White Great Egret
Great Egret (Ardea alba), the snowy white bird’s beautiful plumage made it far too popular in 19th-century North America. Great egrets were decimated by plume hunters who supplied purveyors of the latest ladies’ fashions. Their populations plunged by some 95 percent. Today the outlook is much brighter. The birds have enjoyed legal protection over the last century, and their numbers have increased substantially.
Great egrets are found near water, salt or fresh, and feed in wetlands, streams, ponds, tidal flats, and other areas. They snare prey by walking slowly or standing still for long periods, waiting for an animal to come within range of their long necks and blade-like bills. These birds nest in trees, near water and gather in groups called colonies, which may include other heron or egret species.
Green Magpie Indochinese
The common green magpie is a member of the crow family, roughly about the size of the is slightly smaller. It is a vivid green in colour, slightly lighter on the underside. It has a thick black stripe from the bill to the nape.
The Indochinese green magpie or yellow-breasted magpie is a passerine bird, Corvidae. It is native to China and southeast Asia. You can find this bird from the lower Himalayas in north eastern India. It’s also in a broad south easterly band down into central Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra and northwestern Borneo. It’s always appear in evergreen forest, including bamboo forest, clearings and scrub.
Almost all the bird’s green feathers will fade to turquoise-blue when frequently exposed to the sun. That’s because combine of two sources to produce the green plumage. This special feather structure that produces blue colouring due the feather refracting light (known as schemochromes) combined with yellow carotenoids, a group of bio-pigments that come from the bird’s diet.
True Parrot Bird
Parrot bird, also called Psittacidae, they are about 350 species of colourful flighted. True parrots have a beak with a characteristic curved shape. The jaw with a mobility slightly higher than where it connects with the skull, and a generally upright position. They also have a large cranial capacity and are one of the most intelligent bird groups.
They are good fliers and skillful climbers on branches of trees. Some species can imitate the human voice and other sounds, although they do not have vocal cords. Instead possessing a vocal organ at the base of the trachea known as the syrinx.
I admit that I’m not good at bird photo shooting, even not get a perfect capture of the bird on flying. For me, I need to improve this skill, I hope can upload more skillful photo here.
