Choti Lamsam was a Thai Chinese, Hakka ancestry in Meixian, Guangdong. The founded of K-Bank known as the Thai Farmers Bank in 1945 with registered capital of Baht 5 Million. Bank was listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) since 1976.
The current chairman and CEO is Mr Bantoon Lamsam, the grandson of the founder. In 2003, Thai Farmers Bank changed its name to KASIKORNBANK or KBank.
As of 30 June 2014, KBank was the fourth largest commercial bank in Thailand. It’s measured by total assets, loans, and deposits, with about 15% market shares. Kasikornbank has a registered capital of 30.5 billion baht. The paid up capital of 23.9 billion baht and market capitalization of 488 billion baht. It’s second largest in the banking sector on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
KBank has total assets of 2.34 trillion baht, total deposits of 1.567 trillion baht. The total loans (to customers less deferred revenue) outstanding of 1.472 trillion baht. The bank offers consumer banking, commercial banking, and corporate banking services. That’s including cash management, international trade financing, lending, deposit-taking, supply chain financiang, Bancassurance, FX and derivatives. KBank also have investment banking, custodian services, asset management, credit card services and mortgage lending.
